Activities with Amber - Watermelon Canvas
Hello Artists and families!!
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far. It is so crazy how we are nearing the end of July. Before we know it, we will be heading into the fall months, the weather will be getting cooler and we will be preparing for the holiday season. But until then, let’s enjoy the summer!!
Everyone’s favorite snack on a hot day is a fresh, juicy watermelon! Well, I know it’s my favorite snack. After eating some this weekend, it got me thinking that a watermelon painting would be fun and cute, so that’s what I’ve brought you this week!
All you will need for this watermelon painting is a canvas, paint, and paintbrushes! You can also do this on a piece of paper with some crayons.
Step 1: Grab some red paint and paint a semicircle at the bottom corner of the canvas.
Step 2: Add some green to make the rind of the watermelon. Try to add some white in the middle, or a lighter green!
Step 3: Add a background color around the edge of the watermelon.
Step 4: Add some black watermelon seeds and it is complete!
Please join me in my Art with Amber class live on Tuesdays at 3 pm!
Have a great week everyone!
