Stories with Stan - Stan and the Man
Let’s continue to bring our families together during this time with literacy! I hope that you’re enjoying Stories with Stan! Do you have a hero? Someone you look up to? Heroes come in all shapes and sizes. A hero could be a parent, older sibling, grandparent, teacher, coach, and the list goes on and on. Today we will read my story, about my hero, my dad. When you’re done, try your best to complete the #bekind39 challenge in honor of my hero. Some of these challenges may require you to be creative or do with a friend over a video call, they will love to hear from you. Enjoy!
Literacy Activity 6: Interview your hero
Set up a phone interview with someone who inspires you and ask them the following questions. Use the answers to write a profile on the person and send it to me! I’d love to hear who inspires you!
What is your name?
Where and when were you born?
Do you have any siblings? If so, what are their names and ages?
What is the best advice you've ever received?
Who inspired you as a teen? Why?
Describe a defining moment in your life.
What is your favorite book and why?
What is the hardest lesson you've ever learned?
What is your biggest accomplishment?
What is your personal motto?
Thank you for tuning in and there will be more literacy resources to come! Don't forget to work on your kindness challenges, there are so many things that you can do to be kind to someone and show them you care; Hold the door for a family member, write a sweet note to a friend, tell a funny joke to someone who needs a laugh. Feel free to come up with your own acts of kindness, message me, and tell me what you did!
“Always remember to be kind, and never judge a person, or a book, by their covers” -Stan Tucker
