Stories with Stan - What do you do with a chance

Hello Fellow Story Explorers,

I hope this email finds you all doing well! Let’s continue to bring our families together during this time with literacy! I hope that you’re enjoying Stories with Stan! Yesterday was National Take A Chance Day. So I thought today’s story would be a good one to share! Have you ever missed your opportunity on taking a chance at something? I think we have all missed our chance at something during our lifetime. Today’s story, “What do you do with a chance” will give you an insight on what to do when chances come our way! Enjoy!

It’s not too late…..Make your own Kindness box

To save your acts of kindness, for your own memory, create a kindness box for your family to use at home! Look around your house and see what you have that you could turn into your own kindness box. You could use a cereal box, a tissue box, a tin can, a mason jar, the list goes on, so have fun with it and send me pictures of your beautiful creations!

Stories with Stan Live- The Invisible Boy

Invisible boy.jpg

Happy Friday camp family! Today,  in my Zoom class, I’m going to share with you the story of the invisible boy, named Brian. Nobody ever seems to notice him or think to include him in their group, game, or birthday party…..Have you ever felt invisible? Do you know someone like Brian in our story, who rarely gets noticed or included? Follow along with me as we take a look at Brian’s Story!

This story is a great example of how one act of kindness can create something beautiful. I love Brian and how even though he was always left out, he still chose to be kind. His act of kindness towards Justin helped create a friendship between the two! If you’re ever feeling left out, remember this story and think about Brian. He didn’t let that stop him from being kind to others and don’t you either! Also, if you ever see someone that is being left out, take the initiative to invite them into the activity or group of friends. You never know the impact that you may have on one’s life!

Kindness Challenge - Thank You Notes

For this week’s kindness challenge, I want to take time to show appreciation to our medical staff that are working long hours and risking their lives to take care of the sick. Let’s show them how much we appreciate them by writing them a thank you note or drawing them a pretty picture! Also, don’t forget to send me all the kind acts that you’ve done this week so I can add them to our Camp Family Kindness Box!

Always remember to Be Kind and never judge a book or a person by their covers!
