Activities with Amber - Kindness Rocks

Hi friends!

I miss you all so much and truly hope you have enjoyed our activities this summer! This week is one of my very favorite activities that I have been saving up for you guys. ROCK PAINTING! Parents, I know it may sound simple, or overdone, but it is a wonderful activity that you can do with your whole family (and even incorporate some fun life lessons in there).

For starters, you are going to need some rocks. Have fun with this! You can look for rocks wherever you go. This is an exciting part because the kind of rock changes depending on where you look for them. For instance, if you want flat, smooth rocks (the best for painting in my opinion), maybe take your family for a hike and find some along the bottom of a creek. You may want smaller pebble-like rocks that can be found in your neighborhood. Let’s get creative!

Now for the next step: painting! This is where you can throw in some life lessons. I know Mr. Stan talks about being kind, and this is a wonderful way to do this. Instead of painting the rocks, you found to look like a shark or your dog, I encourage you and your family to think about some kind words that you can paint on your rocks.

Last step is to hide them! Take these rocks around your neighborhood or to your local park. You can set them in a tree, by the lake or whatever you choose to do with them. By setting these around, we can hope that someone who may be having a bad day will look down and see your kindness rock and feel better!

As always, we love you and send me pictures of the rocks you may paint!
