“Boxing is just to introduce me to the struggle but my main fight is for freedom and equality and this is what I plan to do in boxing.”

Muhammed Ali

Muhammed Ali was one of the greatest boxing champions of all time! What makes him the greatest of all time for me is how he took a stand for African Americans. He used his platform as a boxer to fight inside the ring but also fight outside the ring for freedom and equality.

You don’t lose if you get knocked down; you lose if stay down.
— Muhammed Ali

Although he was hated by many for various reasons, like the way he trash talked his opponents in the ring, for being outspoken about unfair treatment of African Americans, or for his faith. He was unwavering in his beliefs no matter how tough things got for him. He gave people hope with his outlook on life. He believed that anything was possible but you had to work for it.

“Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.”-Muhammad Ali

“Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.”-Muhammad Ali

This is one of my favorite quotes by the late champion and it always makes me reflect on my own life. I question, if I am being intentional about what I do for others? How can I serve others more? We are all so fortunate to have life and for this time on earth but we must never forget that there is rent to pay and the cost is serving others.
