Stories from the Treehouse - Same, Same but Different

Hello Camp Southern Ground Family, Happy Black History Month!

Same Same but Different (Created with @Magisto)-high.gif

We must continue to teach our youth that different isn’t bad or worse, it’s just different.

Always remember to be kind and never judge a book, or a person, by their cover.

I wanted to share a story to remind us that we are all different but the same. When I think about Black History, sadly, the first thing that comes to my mind is how African Americans were treated unfairly because of the color of their skin. What impresses me the most about the African Americans that we celebrate during this month, are amazing things they accomplished even though things were unfair for them because they were different. During this month it is important for us to recognize the amazing accomplishments that African Americans have made but it’s just as important to recognize the unfairness that they faced because of their differences.

We must continue to teach our youth that different isn’t bad or worse, it’s just different. Always remember to be kind and never judge a book, or a person, by their cover.
