Activities with Amber - Surprise Expressions

Hi families!

I hope you all had a happy Fourth of July weekend. I am so excited to be back with you guys and teach your young artists another super cool project! This week, we are going to be creating what is called a “surprise expression”. This is a super simple concept that involves folding and drawing!

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Fold your paper hamburger style.

  2. While your paper is folded in half, fold each end towards the first fold.

  3. Leave the paper folded and draw an image.

  4. Unfold the paper and add on to your previous image.

Now you have a fun surprise image when you pull apart the folded section!!

This is a fun way of being creative with your art. I hope you and your young artists will enjoy this and hopefully attend my Art with Amber live Zoom class on July 14th!

Have a wonderful week and see you soon!
